Turkey has announced a record number of polio cases, with the country’s health ministry announcing 1.8 million people had been treated.
The number of cases was announced at a press conference in Ankara on Tuesday, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported.
It said 1,664 people were diagnosed with polio.
Turkey has not reported a new case of the virus since January, with cases in the first two months of this year reaching an all-time high of 1.3 million.
